David Dobrik Biography
Transition to YouTube
Dobrik started his social media career on Vine in 2013, amassing over 1.3 million followers before the app's shutdown in 2017. Undeterred, he shifted his focus to YouTube in 2015, where he gained even more popularity and built a loyal fanbase. Collaborating with fellow YouTubers and former Viners such as Liza Koshy, Gabbie Hanna, Jason Nash, and Zane & Heath, Dobrik's videos became known for their pranks, adorable animals, and surprise celebrity appearances.
Entrepreneurial Ventures and Awards
Apart from his YouTube success, Dobrik co-founded the photo-sharing app Dispo in 2019. With Dispo, he aimed to recreate the nostalgic experience of using disposable cameras, allowing users to embrace the past in a digital world. Alongside his entrepreneurial ventures, Dobrik won the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for "Favorite Social Star" in 2019 and was named to Forbes' esteemed 30 Under 30 list in the social media category in 2021.
Personal Life
Dobrik dated fellow YouTuber Liza Koshy from late 2015 to early 2018, warming the hearts of fans with their adorable relationship. The couple even released a heartfelt breakup video, attributing their split to their busy schedules. Beyond romantic endeavors, Dobrik's sense of humor extends to playful shenanigans, as demonstrated by his comedic, albeit short-lived, marriage to Lorraine Nash, the mother of fellow YouTuber Jason Nash.
Continuing Ventures
In November 2022, he announced the opening of his own pizza restaurant, Doughbrik's Pizza, in Los Angeles. With a devoted fanbase eagerly anticipating the chance to taste his culinary creations, Dobrik continues to explore new ventures and redefine what it means to be a social media star.
