Early Beginnings
Calvin Harris, born Adam Richard Wiles on January 17, 1984, in Dumfries, Scotland, started his music career at 15, recording bedroom demos in 1999. He gained recognition on Myspace and signed contracts with Three Six Zero Group, EMI, and Sony BMG in 2006. His debut album, 'I Created Disco,' achieved gold certification. His subsequent albums '18 months' and 'motion' led to his international fame.
Achievements
Harris was the first artist to have three songs simultaneously in the top 10 of Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart in 2014. He was also the first Uk solo artist to surpass one billion streams on Spotify. He received 18 Brit Award nominations, and won British Producer of the Year and British Single of the Year in 2019. Harris earned five Grammy Award nominations and won Best Music Video in 2013.
