Rough Beginnings

Born in 1999, Virgil René Gazca—That Mexican OT—had a difficult childhood. His mother passed away when he was just 8 years old in 2007, and his father was in prison. The only solace he found to cope with his struggles was rap. During his middle school years he rap battled his father's intoxicated friends. And after his father's release, he moved to Austin and attended Stony Point High School, where he continued to hone his rap skills until he committed to pursuing it full-time.

Lonestar Luchador and Jonny Dang

Between 2020 and 2022, right after his graduation from high school, OT released the mixtapes "South Texas Project," "Southside Steppin," "1 Double 0," and "Nonsense and Mexican Shit." In 2022, he signed with the label Manifest/GoodTalk/Good Money/Interscope and released Lonestar Luchador" in 2023. The album was an instant success, with the hit track "Johnny Dang" charting the Billboard Hot 100, getting over 20 million YouTube views and 36 million Spotify streams.

OT lives in Brazoria, Texas, with his girlfriend and dog. His luchador mask tattoo on his hand is a reminder of his Mexican origin, symbolizing the courage to fight.
