Samantha Irvin Biography
Early Life
Ladies and gentlemen! Coming from New Bedford, Massachusetts, please welcome, the iconic WWE ring announcer, SAMANTHA… Irvin. Born in 1989, the eldest of six siblings, her mother was a professional flutist, and Samantha learned to sing and play the flute when she was four. When she was nine, she sang in her third-grade talent show. In 2015, she sang “You Make Me Feel Like” in her audition for America's Got Talent, and went up to the semi-finals. In September 2020, she was featured in “I Can See Your Voice.”
Getting Scouted by WWE
More than a singer, Samantha loved WWE since she was 7, and was a huge fan of Shawn Micheal. Following WWE and many wrestlers on Twitter, she was recognized by the wrestler Mark Henry. He messaged her. She had to go through the physical test of the WWE tryout, which she ranks for pain almost the same as giving birth. But she went through it and was given the liberty to be creative with her ring announcements. With her love for both music and wrestling, she transformed every wrestler's announcement into a unique song.
WWE Career
In 2021, she was the ring announcer for NXT, her announcements had so much creativity and depth. She researched, and tweaked, and tried to make every announcement fit the personality and theme song of every wrestler, asked for feedback, and what they liked, didn't like, and tried again. And her efforts paid off. She was the ring announcer for SmackDown in 2022 and for Raw in 2023. And one of her proudest moments, was when she was named the official ring announcer for WrestleMania 39. Making history for being part of the first WrestleMania women's match, between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley on April 1st, 2023, that was refereed by a woman, and announced by a woman.
Relationship
Samantha Irvin met the WWE wrestler Ricochet on Twitter. She was doing her usual due diligence, following the wrestler's social media to see what was current in their world. And Ricochet followed her back on Twitter. He went on to look her up and followed her on Instagram as well. Getting along, and friendly messages turning into hour-long phone calls, they met and went to the Grand Canyon for their first date. In 2021, the couple announced their relationship to the public. In January 2023, they announced their engagement.
