Born in 1996, in North Carolina, Kris Tyson grew up in a conservative town that made her afraid of others' reactions if she were to fully accept herself. Grappling with internalized transphobia while growing up, she went through conversion therapy. But later, came out as bisexual at the age of 16. At the age of 27, in 2023, she transitioned and embraced her she/her pronouns.
