Capital Bra Biography
Childhood and Adolescence
Relocations marked his early years, moving first to Dnipro, Ukraine, and then to Berlin, Germany with his mother at the age of seven. His teenage years were marred by schoolyard skirmishes and petty crime, compelling him to drop out of school in the ninth grade. He discovered solace in music, composing his first rap lyrics at the age of 11, introducing themes from his difficult past.
Rap Scene
Capital Bra seized his pivotal break after appearing at the 'Rap am Mittwoch', a Berlin rap battle in 2014. His debut album 'Kuku Bra,' launched in 2016, found a place in Germany's Top 100. He achieved his first Golden Record with the single “Paff paff & weiter mit Gzuz.” The year 2017 carried forth his musical success, with the second album 'Makarov Komplex' earning the top spot in Austria and the second position in Germany.
'Team Kuku' & 'Bra Musik'
The upward trajectory of Capital Bra continued despite a few bumps. He established his record label 'Team Kuku' in 2018, propelling his album 'Berlin lebt' to the top of the charts. After a fallout with fellow rapper Bushido and parting ways with the label Ersguterjunge in 2019, he inaugurated 'Bra Musik'. His collaborative album 'Berlin lebt 2' with Samra dominated charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Current Success
In an unconventional twist in 2020, Capital Bra launched his frozen pizza brand 'Gangstarella'. Concurrently, his seventh studio album 'CB7' was released. As the year wrapped up, he emerged as Germany's top-streamed artist on Spotify. His latest music offering '8,' which was released in March 2022, took the fourth spot on the Album Charts. His distinct blend of street rap and pop music, often incorporating autotune and frequent use of the term 'Bratan' (meaning brother, in a nod to his Russian roots), continues to capture audiences worldwide.
