Ante Čović Biography
Early Career
Ante Čović started his football career in the Australian National Soccer League, playing for teams like Marconi Stallions and Sydney Olympic. He later ventured into Europe, showcasing his skills in Greece with PAOK Salonika and in Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb. Čović then made a notable impact in Sweden, becoming one of the most respected goalkeepers at Hammarby IF, making 121 appearances for the club.
A-League
In 2006, Ante Čović made his A-League debut with the Newcastle Jets. It was during the 2007 season that he established himself as the team's starting goalkeeper, helping them secure the A-League championship title. He later joined Melbourne Victory, where his outstanding performances earned him the prestigious Player's Player of the Year award.
AFC Champions League
In 2014, Ante Čović achieved a defining moment in his career with the Western Sydney Wanderers. He played a pivotal role in the club's triumph in the AFC Champions League, contributing to their title and earning the tournament's MVP accolade.
